The TWAIN driver defines communication and data structures between software applications on your PC and the DSmobile 600 scanner.  This driver allows the DSmobile to scan from any TWAIN compliant program on your PC that allows scanning from the software program and has compatibility with the DSmobile scanner. You can download this driver below. This driver is also included on the installation CD that comes with the scanner along with the following PC/Windows scanning software.

• Installation CD: contains everything you need to install and use your Pentax DSmobile Scanner right out of the box!
• DSmobileSCAN: this program will auto-load from the installation CD. DSmobile Scan allows scanned documents to be automatically saved as Adobe® Acrobat® (PDF) files. An added feature to this software is the ability to initiate a scan from the DSmobile 600 scanner button.
• TWAIN driver: This driver will auto-load from the installation CD and you can download it below. TWAIN allows a user to control all scanning details and settings. The DSmobile 600 is compatible with any software that has the TWAIN compatibility for the DSmobile 600.
• PageManager® Version 7: This program is located on the Installation CD but will not auto-load. The user has the choice of loading the software. To install PageManager, browse to the CD root directory on the installation CD, find the PageManager 7 folder, open it and double click on the setup.exe file. Follow the on-screen instructions. Refer to the “help” file included with this program for further use instructions.

This driver supports Windows XP, 2000, ME, and 98SE (second edition), Win 98 (first edition) is not supported, and supports USB (Universal Serial Bus) 2.0 (High Speed) for best performance.  It is also compatible with USB 1.1 (at a slower speed).

Installing DSmobile 600 Driver on Windows XP, 2000, ME, 98SE Systems

1. Download the DSmobileSetup.exe Twain driver file to your PC or copy it to a CD for installation on another PC.
2. Double Click on the setup file (this file may be labeled as the “DSmobile 600 setup -setup Launcher”).
3. The first screen will be “Choose Setup Language”. Choose your preferred language and hit “OK”.
4. Once a language is selected the InstallShield Wizard will open. Follow the on-screen step by step “InstallShield Wizard” instructions. Note: Choose “complete” at the “Setup Type” screen.
   
   
   
5. Connect the DSmobile 600 scanner to your PC USB port.
6. Press the button on the top of the DSmobile 600 scanner which will display a “Scan Button” screen.
7. The “Scan Button” screen displays a list of installed software programs that support scanning using the Pentax DSmobile 600 scanner.
   
   
   
8. Choose the software program you wish to use.
9. Follow the on-screen instructions for calibration and scanning. See the DSmobile 600 User’s Guide for information on setting scanning parameters.

Installing DSmobile 600 Vista 32-bit Driver on Windows Vista Systems
